Hydromulching
Lanyonscapes HydromulchingHydromulching is a method of revegetation where the seed and fertiliser is mixed in a slurry of organic matter and tackifiers, and sprayed out onto the prepared surface. The blend can contain either grass or tree and shrub species, or a combination of both; with the species selection depending on end requirements, soil type, climate, and many other factors. Turf species are also used as a cost effective means of establishing turf quality grass.

Direct Seed

Lanyonscapes Direct SeedingDirect seeding generally refers to the various methods of seeding where the seed and fertiliser is placed without large quantities of additional material such as hydromulch. Lanyonscapes is equipped to complete either grass or tree and shrub seeding for all disturbed areas associated with mining or construction.

Seed can be located under the soil surface or on top of the soil depending on species selection and soil type. The method of seeding is determined by factors such as terrain and accessibility, size of job, quality of site preparation, and safety considerations.

Haymulching

Lanyonscapes HaymulchingHaymulching is similar to Hydromulching except that the mulch is applied dry. The haymulching process requires seed and fertiliser to be applied first by direct seeding, and a blanket of hay is applied over the seed.

Haymulching machines are pulled behind a truck, and bales of hay are fed into the machine. This machine is a chopper and blower and is capable of blowing a uniform layer of hay over the seed. This hay is held in place by a tackifier to minimise wind loss.
